This was painted for a portrait competition, hope I win.

Its of Blanket man, hes a very well known homeless man in Wellington, hes kind of our icon strangely. He sits on the main street all day in the sun smoking weed from a can, sometimes with others. Hes pretty friendly. Peolpe are always feeding him so he aint going hungry. Apart from the weed he has a blanket and an mp3 player. Hes pretty much naked, just a small piece of coth to cover his bits. I just went to see him but hes passed out...

I took this photo of him, he only lets people photograph him when he smoking his "Peace pipe"

Wow, I hope you win, too! What is the size of the canvas? It's really good. You've got such a neat and distinctive painting style, kind of like if you were to take a photo and digitally alter it so the colors flatten out and become more graphic and poster-like. Your style lends itself well to this subject matter, this street scene. He looks like he's partially colored, almost disappearing, like bubbles. I can tell a lot of work and thoughtfulness went into this! Nice work.
